Lionel Messi is set to receive an insane EA Sports FC 24 Team of the Season card, according to a new leak.

  WHAT HAPPENED?

  Following the releases of the Premier League and Bundesliga Team of the Season ratings, EAFC insider Donk has leaked Messi's card for the Mixed Leagues XI. It shows the Argentine World Cup winner has a whopping 98 rating.

  Messi has a Team of the Year card too, which has a 97 rating – the current joint-highest in the game – and a 98 card would set him apart.

• WHAT THEY SAID

  Donk tweeted on X, formerly Twitter: "Mixed League TOTS on Sunday 🥶. This card will be insane in game 🐐."

  The 36-year-old Messi's stats could be: pace 94, shot 98, passing 99, dribbling 99, defence 45, and physicality 80.

• THE BIGGER PICTURE

  Messi, who helped Miami win their first-ever trophy last year with the Leagues Cup triumph, has had a stellar season to date, scoring 12 goals and bagging 11 assists in just 11 appearances. After languishing near the bottom of Major League Soccer's Eastern Conference last season, they are top of it at present – and much of that is down to Messi.
